TECHNOLOGIES
Films specified for performance, not aesthetics.
Every film installed by Tecnosolar Sardegna is selected to the building's specifications and supported by the manufacturer's official technical datasheets.
PRODUCT CATEGORIES
Four film types. One installer.
We install the full LLumar® architectural range — solar control, safety, privacy, and anti-graffiti. Each category addresses a distinct set of requirements. Many projects combine two or more film types on different glazed surfaces.
Solar Control Films
Solar control films selectively filter the solar spectrum — transmitting visible light while rejecting infrared heat. Available in reflective, neutral, and high-performance energy-efficiency variants.
- Reduces transmitted solar heat (varies by product)
- Variable visible light transmission
- Low-reflectance options available (non-mirror)
- Compatible with single and double-glazed units
Reference standard: NFRC / EN 410
Safety Films
High-strength polyester films that hold glass fragments in place on breakage. Rated by impact resistance and suitable for environments with elevated risk of accidental or deliberate breakage.
- Classification 1B1 and 2B2 (UNI EN 12600)
- Available in various thicknesses (100–400 micron)
- Anti-blast variants for professional applications
- Applicable to existing glazing
Reference standard: UNI EN 12600
Privacy & Decorative Films
Covers a broad range of applications: one-way mirror (daytime privacy), frosted (acid-etch effect), partial or full blackout, geometric patterns, and printed films for branding.
- Mirror: one-way visibility under daytime conditions
- Frosted: diffused light transmission
- Blackout: luminosity reduction up to 95%
- Printed: UV-resistant custom graphics
Reference standard: N/A — aesthetic product
Anti-Graffiti Films
Transparent sacrificial film with a chemical-resistant protective layer. Shields glass from spray paint, markers, and solvents. When attacked, the film is removed and replaced without damaging the underlying surface.
- Optical transparency >99%
- Chemical resistance to markers and spray paint
- Residue-free removal from toughened glass
- Also available for non-glass surfaces
Reference standard: Manufacturer chemical tests

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
How window films work
Window films are thin polyester-based laminates applied directly to existing glazing. Unlike glass replacement, installation is non-invasive, requires no structural work, and can be completed in hours on occupied premises.
Multilayer structure
Films consist of multiple polyester layers bonded together. The stack determines optical, thermal, and mechanical performance.
Spectral selection
Metallic or nano-ceramic coatings enable selective filtering of the solar spectrum — blocking infrared heat and UV while transmitting visible light.
Permanent adhesion
Pressure-sensitive adhesives bond the film to the glass surface without voids or bubbles. Full curing is completed over the weeks following installation.
Glass compatibility
Film selection must account for the glass type. Some solar control films are not suitable for double-glazed units: we assess compatibility during the survey.
PERFORMANCE DATA
Declared vs. measured performance
Film performance figures (solar heat rejection, visible light transmission, UV blocking) are declared by the manufacturer and measured under standardised laboratory conditions. Real-world performance depends on glass type, orientation, climate, and installation quality. During the survey, we provide estimates for your specific situation — not generic catalogue values.
